Membership in the Chorale

The Sacred Music Chorale consists of about 60 members of various Christian churches from all over the Puget Sound region. Membership is open to all who respect our mission.

Member dues are $100 annually. A one-time $20 music deposit is required.

Although there is no fixed size to the group, auditions are required. If you are interested in joining, please contact our Artistic Director to arrange for an audition.

Auditions consist of an interview with the director, and a series of vocal exercises to determine vocal placement, interval recognition, and sightreading assessments. Sightreading and interval recognition are not a requirement; the ability to catch on quickly is much more important. Previous choral singing experience is helpful but not mandatory. Interested singers should prepare a short hymn, folksong, or aria excerpt without accompaniment. The entire process is very non-threatening and will take approximately 1/2 hour.
