Kick off the holiday season in celebratory style with the Sacred Music Chorale’s Christmas program, Sounding Joy. Filling the air with the sound of trumpets, timpani, organ, and voices, we will perform John Rutter’s symphonic Gloria, Daniel Pinkham’s Christmas Cantata, and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols, plus a collection of other holiday favorites. An homage to our favorite past performances, this year’s concert will feature an inspired collection of famous works from Gabriel Fauré, Randall Thompson, Felix Mendelssohn, and many more, plus a performance of the stirring Missa Gratulationis (Mass of Thanksgiving), written by local composer John Gordon.
